French Fried Onions
Peel and cut onions in slices and separate into circles. Salt and pepper, dip into milk, then into the flour or bread crumbs. Fry in preheated fat until a golden brown. Shake onto a sheet of paper to absorb any fat.
Variation: Asparagus, cauliflower, green pepper, egg plant, or celery. These vegetables should be pre-cooked for a few minutes and thoroughly drained.

Idioms
After the fight was over, it took George some time to be able to pull himself together, and only then did he realize that he was wrong and decided to apologize. Mr. Crawley was very nice; he just said, "I know you are having problems. Skip it. No hard feelings". George was very relieved to hear that. He thought they'd never be on speaking terms again.

- Pull oneself together: controlar-se; se recompor
